Introduction

Most of our desk phones (e.g. D785, D385, etc) come equipped with a USB port. This USB port is suitable for connecting our external USB WLAN adapter A210 (other WLAN adapters might also work, but are not tested by us).

It is suggested to upgrade the phone to the latest release of firmware (at least V10) before installing the WLAN USB adapter and connecting to a Wireless Network. See here which Phones have an USB Port.

Do not connect both the PoE Ethernet port and WLAN Adapter to your Deskphone at the same time. We suggest that you use an external phone power adapter as our  Snom A6 instead.

Procedure for desk phones with color display on the example of a D385

  1. With the phone powered on, insert the WLAN adapter into the USB port of your Snom phone.
  2. Press the Settings key  on your Snom phone in order to enter the Phone User Interface settings.

  3. Select Option 4 Network

This option is only visible if the phone is in admin mode . To switch from user mode to admin mode you will need to know the admin mode password of your phone.
ATTENTION: Some PBXs disable option 4 (Network). Therefore it is not possible to activate the WLAN function via the PUI ( Phone User Interface ). In this case, you can only try using the WUI (Web User Interface).
